Launch Issue of Macao Higher Education Magazine – Foreign Language Edition is Published
The launch issue of Macao Higher Education Magazine – Foreign Language Edition has already been published in early December. The magazine, which is in Portuguese and English, seeks to provide a channel for Macao’s society and other regions to better understand the current and future development of Macao higher education, whilst prospective students and parents can gain further knowledge on higher education and get better preparation for choosing a future study subject. Meanwhile, tertiary teaching staff and students can use this magazine as a platform for communication and exchange. Interested parties can obtain the magazines in specific locations or browse the website of the Tertiary Education Services Office (GAES) to view the magazine.
The content of the Macao Higher Education Magazine – Foreign Language Edition is comprehensive and diversified, comprising the discussion of relevant issues on higher education, overview of characteristic academic departments in local higher education institutions, sharing of students’ learning experiences, introduction of tertiary students’ activities, information for further education, individual creations etc.
The highlights of the launch issue include Prof. Sun Xiaobing, Director of Policy and Regulation Department of the Ministry of Education of China discussing university governance, professionals talking about international higher education quality assurance, Prof. Wei Zhao, Rector of University of Macau introducing the development plan of his university as well as Macau University of Science and Technology introducing the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine. In addition, Dr. Jorge Rangel, President of the International Institute of Macau, has also been invited to thoroughly explain about the development course of Macao’s higher education while Macao students furthering study outside the region and overseas students studying in Macao will also share their learning experiences.
Magazine copies will be given out to teachers, students and citizens at Macao’s tertiary institutions, secondary schools and libraries. They will also be distributed to the Portuguese Bookstore (Macau), Plaza Cultural Macau, Starlight Bookstore, Public Information Centre, Government Service Centre and public reception area of the Tertiary Education Services Office. Launched in 2012 and published periodically, the Macao Higher Education Magazine seeks to provide a centralised platform for disseminating information on Macao’s higher education as well as providing the latest and most comprehensive news on higher education.
